SOLAR PV SAFETY FOR FIREFIGHTERS:
Solar safety for firefighters is a two hour face to face class developed to give firefighters an understanding of solar technology that is being installed in homes and businesses. PV systems are always on when sunlight is present and presents a hazard to firefighters. All firefighters need to have the knowledge to work in environments that contain solar PV systems.
Paul Melvin has a background in the fire service and an extensive background in electrical construction. Paul holds an unlimited qualification from the NC Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors and A diploma in solar PV from NCSU Center for Clean Energy.
